Fine Line & Anti-Wrinkle Treatment
Botulinum Toxin A (anti-wrinkle injection) works by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften due to temporary paralysis. It is most commonly used on forehead lines, crows feet and frown lines. Results start to appear quickly within several days (final results two weeks).

The effects from botox anti-wrinkle injections will last four to six months. As muscle movement gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles will gradually re-appear and will require further treatment.
Anti-wrinkle injections have been used for many years very safely in various medical conditions such as cerebral palsy and for about 20 years in cosmetic use.
Side effects are very rare but allergic reactions and effects on other muscles to those being treated have been reported in the medical press.
At The Fylde Clinic, botox is carried out by fully trained and certified professionals.
Anti-wrinkle injections take only a few minutes and no anaesthesia is required. You are injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. There is no immediate response to the injections and it can be several days for the muscles to respond to treatment. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications should be omitted two weeks before treatment in order to reduce bruising.
The most common side effect of anti-wrinkle injections is temporary bruising and headaches, which usually resolve in 24-48 hrs but this is very rare. A very small minority of clients may develop eyelid drooping (ptosis). This usually resolves within three weeks.
Procedure Time – 15-30 minutes
